Helen Patricia Eilbeck
EILBECK, Helen Patricia ""Pat"" (nee Beaton) after living a life full of love, devotion, career and travel shared with her family and friends, Pat has gone to join Jack, her beloved husband of sixty years, who is waiting with Maggie. She left us on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, and is survived by her cherished daughters Lynda MacGregor (the late David), Anne McFadden, and Susie Plumpton (Dan); her beloved grandchildren Erin, Megan and Rob, and her step-grandson Daniel. Pat graduated from Physiotherapy at U. of T. in 1944 and was honoured to attend her 66th graduation anniversary in 2007. She practiced her profession at Christie Street Military Hospital and the Brantford General Hospital. When she retired the first time, Pat was proud of her accomplishments as home and school president of three Leaside schools, regent of the Marshall Saunders Chapter of the I.O.D.E., founding member of the Leaside Curling Club, and a member of ""The Bookclub"" for 50 years. Pat returned to the practice of Physiotherapy at Riverdale Rehabilitation Hospital in 1981 until she ""re-retired"" in 1993. When Jack and Pat retired to Bond Head, Newcastle, they became members of the Newcastle United Church, the Clarington Older Adults Association, the Newcastle/Bondhead Ratepayers' Association, the Newcastle Historical Society, and the Horticultural Society. Pat enjoyed regular bridge games with her Bond Head friends and tea-time with her Tuesday Ladies' Group. Her squirrels and chipmunks will miss her! Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S., Newcastle (just north of 401 at the lights) on Friday, October 8, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. As an expression of sympathy, a donation in Pat's memory to Clarington Community Care or Newcastle United Church would be appreciated by her family.
