Martha (Myers) Hendrikx
Cindy and family
I remember running into your Mom as an adult. She had come into Mark's accounting office just after she moved to Newcastle and wanted to "use someone local. Local is best!" Her phrase always stuck with me as that was our philosophy too. As she became older and unable to travel even downtown, she was often amazed we would deliver her income taxes back to her. She, and your sister too would ask me in for coffee or tea and always had time for a chat with me. She would ask me if I was Cindy's grade or John's grade from high school.. and then she'd laugh. I'd say Cindy and she'd start telling me about how you moved away and were happy in that Toronto town.It was nice.
Since Mark passed away, I was unable to do your Mom's taxes and I did miss that little time with her. I tried to stop by the house a few times but without the income taxes, it seemed kind of awkward.
She spoke of your Dad with such love, you can take comfort in the fact they are together again and she has your sister also.
I'm sorry for your loss.
