PARKES, Leslie Alexander – a gentle, creative spirit was suddenly quelled when our dear father was taken from us on Monday, April 28, 2008. BALSDON, Floyd James “Jim, Poppy” – (Life long trucker based in the GTA; 10 year plus member/volunteer of the Oshawa Lions Club). It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Balsdon on Tuesday March 25, 2008, suddenly while doing what he loved, trucking. He was a devoted father to Rick and Ted (Helena); Poppy to Jasmin, Chloe and Anna. GILMOUR, Anthony Roger “Tony” – (Tony coached the Harmony Pee Wee Hockey Team in the early 70’s and was very involved with Connaught Park Sports Programs, Oshawa as Coach and Sports Chairman in the 70’s and 80’s) – at home peacefully on Monday, February 25, 2008 in his 62nd year, with loving wife, Gail, devoted daughter Lisa and dear friend Colin by his side. Loving father of daughter, Diane (Ken), sons, Stephen (Lisa) and Brett (Angela). Proud granddad of Alyssa, Bianca, Christina, Justin, Logan, Nathaniel, Carter, Jordan and Breana. Tony is survived by brothers, Steve (Pat) and Alan. Predeceased by parents William and Mary, brother Billy, mother-in-law Dorothy Jardine, and brother-in-law Dan Jardine. Tony had a special place in the hearts of his cousins, Nancy (Ken), Gary (Deb), Shelley (Dave), Colin and their families. He will be sadly missed by many friends and relatives in Canada and overseas. FALLAISE, John Theodore – On his own terms at home, with his family by his side, John Theodore Fallaise passed gracefully into the night. Husband to Betty Lou (nee Baker), loving father to Carolyn, Peter, Jason and Dianne, father-in-law to Hilary , Edie and Henry, remembered fondly by grandchildren Judson, Joel, Ashley, Jonathan, Karley, Darcy, Grant and Alicia and proud great grandfather to Courtney. John was a graduate of Ryerson Polytechnic Institute (1952) in Architectural Technology and was employed by General Motors Canada for 39 years, in a variety of managerial, supervisory positions. More importantly, he gave us skills and a philosophy that have enriched our lives, and thus, he is with us always.
